STUDENT PARTICIPATION TRACKER APP

Scope and distinction from this website policy

This section applies to the Student Participation Tracker app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. The website practices described above—including Squarespace website hosting, cookies, analytics, newsletter services, and the Meta pixel—apply to visits to this website. Those website cookies, analytics, and advertising technologies are not used inside the Student Participation Tracker app.

Information you may enter

The app lets you enter class names or other class information; student names, initials, or other identifiers; participation records, including dates, times, and outcomes; optional notes; and app settings. You decide what information to enter. Because student information may be sensitive, use only information you are authorized to manage and avoid entering unnecessary personal details.

Local storage and optional iCloud synchronization

App information is stored locally in the app’s protected container on your device using Apple platform storage. Settings are stored locally, and any app PIN is stored in the device Keychain on supported devices.

Optional iCloud Sync is off by default. If you enable it, Apple’s CloudKit service synchronizes app information through your private iCloud account so it can be available on your devices signed in to that account. Apple processes that information as the iCloud service provider under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. The developer does not operate a separate server for this information and cannot view or retrieve the class information, student information, participation records, or notes stored locally or in your private iCloud database.

How information is used

The app uses the information you enter only to provide its features, including class and roster management, participation tracking, summaries, local backups, user-initiated imports and exports, and optional synchronization. Apple StoreKit is used to display, purchase, restore, and verify Full Access. StoreKit does not give the developer access to your class, student, participation, or note content.

No sale, advertising, tracking, or developer analytics

The developer does not sell app information, use it for advertising, track you across apps or websites, or share app content with data brokers or advertisers. The app does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. The app does not send app content or diagnostic logs to the developer automatically.

Imports, exports, backups, and diagnostics

User-initiated roster imports are read from files you select. Complete JSON backups and CSV exports may contain class, student, participation, timestamp, and note information. You choose where an exported file is saved or shared. Once information is exported outside the app, it is governed by the destination you choose and that provider’s privacy and security practices.

The app may keep up to 30 automatic or manual backup snapshots in its app data. Optional diagnostic logging is off by default, records technical events rather than app content, applies redaction safeguards, and remains on the device unless you choose to export it. Diagnostic logs are limited by size and retained for up to 14 days. Temporary import and export files are removed when the related operation finishes.

Retention and deletion

App information remains on the device until you delete it, reset the app’s stored data, or uninstall the app. Exported files remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete them there.

To delete classes, students, participation records, notes, and stored backup snapshots, open Settings, choose Backups & Data, and select Delete All Stored Data. If iCloud Sync is enabled, leave it enabled until the deletion has synchronized so the same records are removed from your private iCloud database and other connected devices. If you previously used iCloud Sync but it is currently off, turn it back on, load the iCloud data, then use Delete All Stored Data and allow synchronization to finish. Uninstalling the app removes its local container but may not remove information previously synchronized to iCloud.

You may stop future synchronization by turning off iCloud Sync. You may stop and remove local diagnostic logging through its setting. The developer cannot directly access or delete information in your private iCloud account, but you may use the contact information in the footer of this page for help with the app’s deletion steps. You may also manage iCloud through Apple’s account and device controls.

Security

The app uses reasonable safeguards available through Apple platforms, including app sandboxing, protected local storage, device authentication or an optional app PIN, Keychain storage for the PIN on supported devices, and restricted temporary-file permissions. Apple supplies the security of iCloud and StoreKit. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Policy changes

Material changes to this app privacy policy will be reflected by revising the effective date and, when appropriate, by a prominent website notice, an in-app notice, or App Store release information. Continued use after a change is subject to the updated policy.
